Civil Society Organizations NGO Platform in North and East Syria advocates for interests of the region during Eighth Brussels Conference
Under the title "Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region," NGO Platform in North and East Syria participated on April 30th with five representatives in the Dialogue Day held during the conference on Syrian civil society participation at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The event was attended by 800 participants, reaffirming the international community's support for the Syrian people and the efforts of the U.N. Special Envoy for reaching a negotiated political solution to the conflict in line with U.N. Security Council Resolution 2254. The ministerial conference aims to mobilize vital financial support to alleviate the impact of the basic needs crisis for Syrians and their host communities in neighboring countries.
The participation of the platform members focused on two roundtable discussions within the six circles established at the conference. Specifically, they participated in the third roundtable on education in emergencies, discussing the barriers and opportunities for access to education.
They also participated in the fifth roundtable on humanitarian assistance and effective protection as a driver for resilience and early recovery in the prolonged crisis in Syria.
These participations, along with others, reflect the shared vision within the Local Voices conference among local civil society organizations in North and East Syria.
