ASO Concludes the First and Second Phase of the Capacity-building Project for Local NGOs

ASO concluded the first and second phases of capacity building project for the NGOs in North and Eastern Syria (NES).

The first phase included media trainers training under the supervision of the trainer, researcher and journalist Hiwa Othman in a preparation for training media department staff in the local NGOs in Deir Ezzor and Raqqa.

The training, which was online, lasted for six days, starting on January 19 of the current year.

While the second phase included the training of fifteen representatives of civil organizations in Deir Ezzor and Raqqa in NES.

The training of the second phase concentrated on how to prepare journal reports, visible success stories, photojournalism, effective utilization of social media and promotion mechanism of activities and events.

The journalist Ivan Hassib held the training in Deir Ezzor countryside and the number of targeted organizations reached six organizations, namely; ‘’ Mari Development – Development without Border – Imprint of Hope – Dernaa for Development – Deir Ezzor branch of Ashna for Development – Sam’’.

The journalist Iyas al-Abbou supervised the training in Raqqa and the number of the targeted organizations reached nine organizations, namely; ‘’the Civil Cooperation Team Organization – Totol – Al-Ahd Organization – the Four Seasons – HDF Humanitarian Organization – Al-Amal Humanitarian Organization – Hope Makers - Together for Algarnya – Nawat’’.

The number of the beneficiaries of capacity building project for the local NGOs reached (30) beneficiaries from the local NGOs in Deir Ezzor countryside and Raqqa.

ASO implements these projects in response to the need of the NGOs in NES for building capacities in its media departments in order to develop promotion tools, advocacy, support and defense mobilization and documentation as well as registration at it.

The project of capacity building for the NGOs in NES aims to strengthen skills and proficiencies, mobilize human efforts in order to achieve common goals among organizations and to enhance sustainable training services in the local communities of NES.
