Analysis and Strategic Study Organization (ASSO) is a newly-born non-profit independent organization for research covering the middle east, and particularly the levant countries. As Syrian and Iraqi affairs within this pretty complicated geostrategic context head research priorities, ASSO is headquartered in both Syria and Iraq.
ASSO aims to provide most effective and future-influencing intellectual and knowledge contributions in the field of strategic, political, economic, social, administrative and security consultancy and study, and administrative training.
Work Overview:
The Project Officer for ASO is responsible for assisting Project manager to implement virtual project activities with Syrian civil society. Also, producing technical reports for related activities and hold the accountability for enhancing the project development activities.
I. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and update monthly project’s progress to project Manager.
2. Monitor project activities, develop monthly project action plan
3. Engage with project risks pro-actively
4. Assisting the project Manager in preparation of project narrative reports.
5. Assist data analysis officer in analysis all produced data through implemented activities
6. adaption of activity implementation to improve the project achievements.
7. Represent the project in meetings with Donor\ partner and project partners and take minutes of project meetings when required.
8. Coordinate with civil society networks to collect and compile all available data and information requested to develop the project.
9. Additional duties and responsibilities as required by the project manager.
II. Qualifications: Education & Experience
• At least 2-years experiences in the project management process
• Well knowledge of political process and activity related to constitution reforming in Syria.
• Experience in working with diverse Stakeholders in diverse cultural environment.
• Experience of working with local Government officials and supporting community engagement in political process
III. Vital Skills & Abilities
• Good knowledge of project management.
• Good in written and spoken English and Arabic language is requested, Kurdish language is an advantage.
• Suitable understanding of civil society dynamics
• suitable understanding of partnership building and engagement strategies with civil society and other stakeholders In Syria.
• Working on own initiative with minimum supervision and staying on task.
• Proficiency in MS office (word, excel, PowerPoint, and email...etc.)
• Working with multiple stakeholders and overtime when required.
