A memorandum of understanding was signed between ASO Center, the Indonesian Scholars Association, and some Indonesian universities in order to cooperate, coordinate, and share experiences for the future activities of the two parties.

On October 4, 2019, ASO Center participated in counter-extremism conferences entitled "Promoting Moderate Islam Toward Reforming the Islamic Nation Status " in Bogor city in Indonesia, through an official invitation from the Indonesian Academy of Sciences to the ASO Center that shared "The Relationship between Religious Extremism and Political Extremism in the Syrian crisis" paper.

During the conference, there was a discussion about extremist organizations' terrorist practices, in addition to an extensive discussion about ISIS in Syria and Iraq as a case study, especially relating to their brutal practices against Yezidis. Furthermore, combating extremism mechanisms were discussed through combating Salafi jihadist ideology and religious extremism, in addition to proposing cooperation between political parties and religious leaderships.
