Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Workshop

On March 1st and 2nd, 2019, ASO Center for Consultancy and Strategic Studies held a workshop on NLP skills in influencing individuals and behavioral change through a rehabilitation program to enhance the professional efficiency of employees and activists operating in civil society institutions. This training process aimed to bridge the gap between reality and desired efficiency and provide the trainees with knowledge and experience to develop their abilities to be able to perform their tasks and achieve their goals effectively.

At the beginning of workshop, the trainer gave a broad general description of the institution in which they work, and the nature of the work they are doing to do. At the same time, he explained the main themes of the workshop which were introducing NLP concept, its founders, its relationship to communication skills and life skills in general.

In workshops, NLP concept is defined as a set of models, theories and tools that helps people to live overcome the difficulties, and positively transform them to help them deal better with problems and solve them successfully. Within the same context, the trainer explained the scientific significance of NLP concept, since "Programming" is the change in the way of thinking and patterns of behavior practiced by a person in his/her daily life to match their real identity and purpose in life. "Linguistic" refers to person's way of thinking acquired through analyzing his/her language, including body language, as well as the possibility of using a positive and easy language to deal with others, especially those with different or negative ideas. However, "Neural" is how the senses and mind work and interact with each other; their impact on our decisions, our impressions of people and attitudes that surround us. Neural system also affects your choices, which you can make to enhance your positive thoughts on your envirnoment.

During the workshop, a discussion about communication and interaction means and its impact on both individuals and groups was brought out. According to the statistics the training referred to, speech and tone affect by 38%, body language by 55%, while speech as content affects by only 7% on the interaction.
At the end of the workshop, certificates were distributed to the participants by ASO Center.
