Training Workshop on the Concept of Citizenship

ASO Center for Consultancy and Strategic Studies organized a workshop on promoting citizenship values and popular participation means in public life with the presence of a group of political and civil activists in Al-Qamishli city.

The aim of the workshop was to raise the youth's awareness on citizenship concept and prepare them in the fields of human rights and dealing with the media in terms of promoting citizenship values.

The workshop also focused on the role of media in promoting citizenship values among civilians and that media is the guardian of real values of citizenship by protecting citizens' interests and focus on the challenges facing local communities.

The lecturer discussed the concept of citizenship in the fields of human rights mentioned in the local laws and regulations, and also the fact that increased awareness of citizenship values helps in contributing to enhance social participation of youth, women and students in the democratic process through wide participation in elections and political parties,which is the core of the political process.
